HOPEDALE, LA - MAY 13: Crab trap builder Shawn Platt stands with his idle traps in on May 13, 2010 in Hopedale, Louisiana. The traps were all pulled from the Gulf waters last week after the federal government banned all fishing in the area due to the BP oil spill. The Deepwater Horizon oil rig operated by BP continues leaking an estimated 1,000-5,000 barrels of oil a day into the Gulf. Efforts to contain the spill have done little to slow its flow. These are symptoms that are consistent with what one might expect from exposure to hydrocarbons in oil. Maybe.
