9 June 2014 (Distractify) – It’s no secret that the city of Detroit is not the thriving industrial city that it once was, but as things decay over time, it’s sometimes hard to notice just how drastic some of the changes have been. Redditor Scarbane has compiled a startling collection of images from Google Street View showing just how much things have deteriorated in just a few years. These pictures broke my heart a little bit… Hopefully, the government can find a way to turn this city around and make it a more appealing place to live. Uh, no. This is exactly what is needed and the trajectory of civilization. At some point, decline and collapse will happen. And at some point, we'll finally recognize that it needs to happen.
That this is happening in Detroit is interesting. The "city of industry" is slowly decaying.
It's definitely not all bad as the author assumes.
