Latest daily mean river flow for 22 November 2011 expressed as a percentile and classed relative to an analysis of historic daily mean flows for the same time of year. Environment Agency

Despite rainfall during the summer the autumn has been very dry, river flows are still very low in some parts of the country, particularly in catchments where groundwater supports river flows. We are starting to see some rivers nearing their lowest ever recorded flows for November. These include the Coln at Bibury (Cotswolds), Nene at Northampton, Trent at North Muskham (Nottinghamshire) and the Kennet at Theale (west Berkshire). Throughout central, eastern, and south east England there are numerous rivers which have exceptionally low flows for the time of year.
