09.nov.2010 20:49 Two Scottish fishing vessels were arrested Tuesday for illegal fishing west of Bergen, Norway. The two Scottish fishing vessels Arcturus and Rosemount were arrested by the Norwegian coast guard, during a routine resource control. The coast guard discovered a great amount of fish under the minimum size, states Øystein Flatval-Larsen, captain of the coast guard vessel Aalesund. 22 percent of the load of fish was too small. A press release from the coast guard states that the trawl net used was constructed in such a way that fish under the minimum size was not filtered. A police report will be filed for both vessels, which were headed for Bergen together with the Norwegian coast guard Tuesday evening. They were expected to arrive in Bergen at eight o’clock Wednesday morning. The arrest was made 90 nautical miles west of Bergen.
